We finally got our fill dirt delivered last Saturday. I rented a Bobcat and used that to move dirt all day while 2, tandem axle dump trucks (those are the big dump trucks) dumped dirt and a dozer back-filled around the house. It was an all day project.
The dump trucks were loaded by a track hoe that was about a mile down the road. The track hoe was removing a hill that was in front of a house that was being constructed. We know the owner and he said we could have his dirt for free...we just had to pay to have it hauled to our place.
We had anywhere from 50-60 loads delivered and that pretty much back filled completely around the house. There is an area behind the house that could use some more dirt, but we'll get by without it. The house looks completely different now that we have some dirt around it!
