Jace Wrestling - Jan 24, 2010

Jace's wrestling season has been going very good this year. He's made a lot of improvements since last year and is currently 9-0.

Yesterday's meet at Indian Lake was a really good one. He was moved up to mat #3 since he's been doing so well. He usually wrestles on mat #1 or #2. Mat #3 consists of mostly 7 & 8 year-olds. Jace was a bit nervous but, I told him just because they're older doesn't mean they're better.

He wrestles 3 matches at each meet. Each match goes 3 rounds at 1 minute per round. His first match went very well. He pinned his opponent in about 45 seconds. That video is posted on Facebook. His 3rd match went all 3 rounds and he won by a 12-2 score. His 2nd match was the best to watch though. Jace wrestled a boy that is one of the best in the league. In fact, last year this particular kid wrestled the best kid in the league and almost beat him. So needless to say, Jace had his work cut out for him with this kid. After the 1st round Jace was down 4-o but, he had his opponent frustrated (evident by the fact that he was crying). After that, Jace went to work and took care of business.

Can you tell I'm a proud daddy? His mom's awfully proud of him too!

  1. As I watched this video. I could see that Jace was getting the advantage on this kid. Then I could see that he had pinned the kid before the referee called it. God job Jace. :^}

  2. So impressive! Being moved up to older and bigger kids, too! I didn't realize the other kid was crying more out of frustration. He looked like he was hurt! Jace looked so composed and like he was really paying attention and listening! Good job, tell him we are proud of him! He did a really good job!
