Cheryl and I went out to a movie for the first time in a very long time. I can't even remember the last movie we went to alone.
Anyway, we went to see "Fireproof". If you haven't heard by now, it's a movie about marriage starring Kirk Cameron. It's not a high budget film so you won't find any big name actors, great effects or a cool action sequence. Fireproof is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I say that because it hits on the issue of marriage in a time when divorce runs rampant in our world and seems to be accepted as the norm when it shouldn't be.
This is definitely a movie that every married couple should see. It can help you to evaluate your own marriage and take inventory of what's on the inside of each you. I highly recommend it!

I just got back from watching Fireproof... the over all message was solid for sure; it was great to see such a different-flavored movie on the regular, big screen
Yes, I agree Patrick. Finally a movie of true substance on the big screen. A movie that can actually change lives and help save marriages.
You seem really excited about this film. I keep hearing good things about the movie's message, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm curious, what was the most important message you and Cheryl took away from it? And what do you think other people might change about their marriage as a result of watching this movie?
For me, this movie hammered home the responsibility we have as husband and wife to love each other as Christ loves us. When I stopped and put that into perspective, I realized how short I've fallen when it comes loving Cheryl the way Christ loves me. It caused me to change the way I love.
I hope that people will not only realize this, but all the many other aspects of marriage this movie hits on. I think every couple could take something different away from it. This movie is one that I believe most couples can relate to because it's a reality for so many in one way or another.
testing....testing....
