Father/Daughter Dance

Last Saturday I got to spend a special evening with Caidryn. Her school hosted a father/daughter dance for students kindergarten thru 5th grade.

The week leading up to the event, Cheryl took her out and bought her a new dress and shoes. Then, the day of the dance she went to the salon and for $5 she got her nails and hair done. I picked up her corsage that morning and then headed to work for a rare weekend video shoot. I got back just in time to change into my suit and tie and head off to the dance with her. Caidryn had been waiting for this night for a long time so she was really excited.

It was a great evening.  She was beautiful in her dress with her hair and nails all done up. We did karaoke, jumped rope, musical chairs, corn hole, hula-hoops and lots more. We had snacks, danced and did the limbo!  It was a blast and Caidryn really enjoyed it. It was some much needed  "daddy & me" time.  It was also a very special time for me to reflect on how much she's grown and how little time I really have before she's all grown up!  It really made me think about what I'm doing for her as her father and how important I am in her life.

It was a night I'll never forget.

I absolutely love this picture! It's my new picture ID for when you call. Caidryn is such a gorgeous little girl and is growing up so fast. Just like you said that this event is something you'll remember forever, certainly Caidryn will too. You're such a good daddy! :-)
